Brandon holds a PhD in Economics from New York University. His work uses deep and reinforcement learning to model, understand and predict the behaviour of agents in socioeconomic settings, combining theoretical and empirical methods to study how agents respond to policy and how economic crises and shocks emerge and evolve. His job market paper is Reinforcement Learning and Consumption-Savings Behavior; he is co-first author of Bayesian Exploration Networks (ICML 2024).
