Witt Lab PI wins £2.3m EPSRC Open Fellowship

The Oxford Witt Lab (OWL) PI Dr Christian Schroeder de Witt has been awarded a prestigious EPSRC Open Fellowship.

See the announcement by the Department of Engineering Science, University of Oxford.

Schroeder de Witt receives the five-year fellowship, valued at approximately £2.26 million, in recognition of his work defining the field of multi-agent security and his research agenda on trustworthy multi-agent AI systems.

The EPSRC Open Fellowship is a highly selective national award supporting a small number of researchers across the UK through a rigorous competitive process. Securing this fellowship at an early stage of an independent career is a rare distinction and reflects exceptional research leadership potential.

This award follows a Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellowship and a Schmidt Sciences AI2050 Early Career Fellowship, alongside several research grants. Together, these awards have brought total research funding secured for OWL this year to over £3.5 million.
